How old does my child need to be to start dance classes?

Here at Creative Edge, we take children for our regular classes starting at age 2.5.

Is there a dress code?

For the younger dancers, they can wear whatever they can move in and feel comfortable in! All ballet dancers must be in a leotard (any color), pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be in a neat bun for all ballet classes. Boys and men may wear fitted black pants or shorts, a fitted top, and black or nude ballet slippers. Other disciplines are at the teacher's discretion. For all classes, make sure the hair is pulled off of the face!

What level and class should we try for our free trial?

The style of dance class that you try is completely up to the child. Our staff at Creative Edge can answer any and all questions you may have about types of dance, but that first trial class should be whatever puts a spark in your dancer's eyes!

Class level can be determined at the time of the free trial class. Our staff can evaluate the dancer on their first day and decide if it is a good fit for them!

When should we enroll for classes?

Our dance schedule follows the regular school year- starting in August and ending in June.

What happens if we miss a class?

No problem! You have 30 days from your missed class to do a make up class. Make up classes are a great opportunity to try out a new style or a new teacher!

What types of performances are available for us?

At Creative Edge, we have an abundance of performance opportunities. CE has a competition team, a winter showcase, a spring recital, and multiple community performances throughout the year. Let us know what you and your family are interested in!

What types of classes do you offer?

Creative Edge offers classes in Ballet, Pre Pointe, Pointe, Tap/Jazz combo, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Heels, Tumbling, Leaps and Turns, Mommy and Me, Storybook Movement, and Tot Tumbling. You will also see on our schedule that we have time blocked off for our competition team rehearsals. Those are not regular classes, but if you are interested in competing, let us know!

How do I pay tuition?

Tuition can be paid at the studio and is due by the first class of the month. You can pay online through your email invoice each month. No checks are accepted for monthly tuition. All late payments are subject to a $25 late fee.

What happens over the holidays?

Creative Edge follows the school district schedule, and regular classes will be closed for all school breaks and holidays. However, over each break we will offer a condensed schedule or a camp depending on the length of the break. Just because there's no school doesn't mean we aren't all itching to dance! Breaks are a great way to try a new style or advance your training!

Do I need to be present while my child is in class?

No, you do not! You can feel free to drop your child off and pick them back up after their classes. Our studios offer observation windows for you to see into the room while your child is dancing if you'd like to watch. We request that no children under the age of 10 is left alone in the building at any time without a parent or guardian.
